I'll try to give an overview over basic signal processing concepts and illustrate it a bit with some examples in GNU Radio and numpy.

The topic I'd like to cover:

  • Complex numbers in a nutshell
  • Short intro to Fourier transform
  • Short intro to z-transform
  • DFT / FFT (+ common pitfalls when using e.g. numpy)
  • How does all this work together?
  • How can we classify a system? (Systemtheory overview)
  • Signal flowgraphs
  • Going digital and why?
  • Normalized frequencies
